If you’re looking for the perfect destination for your precious vacation days, head for Koh Samui. This beautiful island boasts 40 magnificent beaches for you enjoy (and a warm climate of 30° Celsius to warm up your soul).

Do you fancy yourself “lazy-ing” around in the sand? If so, here are five of the best beaches to visit in Koh Samui:

1. Maenam
If you’re looking to get away from the madness of your daily routine, this is the beach for you. With its scenic paths, luscious green palm trees, crystal clear ocean, and soft powdery yellow sands, you’ll never want to leave. Whip out your camera and snap a few stunning photos before dropping by a bar to grab a beer or two.

2. Chaweng
Chaweng is the place to go if you’re looking for a spot with a little more “hustle and bustle” to it. Considered one of the best beaches in Koh Samui, it isn’t surprising to know that the area is filled with people. If the crowd does get a little too rowdy, there are a few secluded spots where you can lounge around. Thanks to its popularity, there’s plenty of food and drinks, and you could easily spend a day here. If you do visit Chaweng, don’t forget to bring a change of clothes as you’ll certainly want to see the vibrant reef under the sparkling waters for yourself!

3. Lamai
Shaped like a crescent, Lamai is a beach that you must visit at least once. If you’re the sporty and adventurous type, there are plenty of water-based activities that you’ll enjoy. The island isn’t nearly as crowded as Chaweng, so take the opportunity to relax and gaze at the palm trees swaying gently over the pristine white sands. There’s plenty of restaurants and spas here too, so you can very easily spend a full day on this little paradise.

4. Choeng Mon
Unlike the other beaches on this list, Choeng Mon consists of a run of many little bays. Hidden away in the northernmost tip of the island, Choeng Mon is a quiet beach, perfect for anyone looking to get away from the cares of the world. The largest bay in the area has beautiful white sands and offers excellent spots for snorkeling. Looking to kayak? There’s an inlet on the opposite side of the bay where you can do so.

5. Bophut
Bophut is one of the more acclaimed beaches Koh Samui has to offer. Although most of the area is now populated with hotels and resorts, the waters still offer some stunning views. With warm temperatures and clear blue waters, Bophut will not disappoint. If your stomach starts to rumble, there are plenty of cafes and bars, and even luxury restaurants for you to choose from.

Plan your next visit to Koh Samui and explore not only the five beaches we’ve mentioned but all the other places. An adventure awaits you, and it promises fun and excitement. Bring your loved one, family, friends, or go solo. No matter when you come or with whom you visit, we guarantee that you won’t ever want to leave this stunning island!
